Embracing Change

Your career path is allowed to change and so are you.

Many individuals still see career re-direction as something negative or even as failure. Honestly, these thoughts even occupied my mind in the past. Let me share my experience with you.

My career journey has led me through paths in various industries and roles. Each of these roles provided valuable growth as well as collaboration with some incredible individuals. Each part of the career journey aligned with one or more goals I had set for myself. And although a few of my values were being honored, many were not. As a result, I felt unfulfilled and never completely flourished to my full potential.

We all dream about what our futures hold and set goals for where we want to be. But honestly, how many of us actually take the time to invest several hours to set specific goals based on our values, dreams and strengths? How many of us actually take our limiting self-beliefs into consideration and prepare for obstacles that could come our way?

A few years ago, I started carving out time in my busy schedule to see a coach. I started to spend more time focusing on where I was and where I wanted to be. I started investing time and money in my personal development. I started setting boundaries and building up my self-esteem. I started to take responsibility for all that was in my control and let go of what was not. I started to align my life completely with my goals, my dreams and my values.  As I changed, my goals changed. Over the years even my values have developed. I have taken massive risks, made huge changes and to date, regularly invest time to realign.

Coaching is not a once off solution to change, you must be ready to develop and must constantly hold yourself accountable for this change. Change is often uncomfortable, but it is nothing compared to limiting yourself and your potential.

Follow your dreams. Dare to make changes. Build the courage to take risks. Allow yourself to flourish.
