On The Move Coaching

I have been offering On The Move Coaching for several years now. Personally, it is one of my favourite ways to coach. There still seems to be quite some confusion around what coaching is, even more so when it comes to On The Move Coaching.

Honestly, On The Move Coaching is just a fancy way to say coaching while jogging, hiking, or walking.

The benefits of On The Move Coaching include:

  • Moving forward physically helps you also move forward mentally. Ever noticed how your thoughts flow freely when you are walking, jogging or hiking? Why not use this to your advantage during your coaching session?

  • Since you are so busy on focusing what lies in front of you and where to place your foot for the next step, you leave the entire digital world behind you.

  • You leave your comfort zone to explore new locations. Similarly, you will explore a new space of mind and gain a different perspective outside your mental comfort zone.

  • You spend time in the sun, whether it is hiding behind some clouds or not. Limited exposure to the sun has proven to reduce stress, increase sleep quality, strengthen your immune system, strengthen bones, and even fight off depression. Need I say more? (Yes, I need to say more. Even during On The Move Coaching sun protection is a must. i.e., sunscreen, hats etc.)

  • You fill your lungs with fresh air. This can have positive effects on your mood, energy level, immune system and even your heart rate.

  • You can take time out of your day to focus on your personal development and can get some exercise in at the same time. Talk about optimizing.

Some of the above-listed benefits also apply to outdoor coaching, which does not always have to include movement.

Before embarking on the journey of On The Move Coaching, ask yourself: Do I feel comfortable talking while walking, jogging or hiking? Some of us like to focus just on breathing or have our personal reflection time during physical exercise. Once you have answered the above question with yes, ask yourself: What pace would be the most productive for me? A certain pace encourages your personal flow. Be sure that your coach can match your pace.

Now, I will stop raving about my favourite way of coaching. After all, these coaching sessions are all about you. You will know what works for you, whether that is on the move, outdoor, in-person or online coaching. Either way, I am happy to embark on the coaching journey with you.
